Make a small circuit of your own

On TapeOut you can turn a small piece of logic into a circuit on chain that anyone can run and check. Here is the overall flow and a real cost, not a step-by-step tutorial.

Before you start

A wallet and a little cryptoFor example OKX Wallet or MetaMask, with a little OKB (X Layer) or BNB (BNB Chain).
Start very smallTens to thousands of gates is ideal. On BNB Chain one circuit currently holds at most about 25,000 gates.
It’s a cost, not an investmentBuying transistors and taping out pay for making the circuit; they bring no returns or rights.

FIVE STEPS

1Decide what to computePick something tiny with a clear answer: adding two 8-bit numbers (about 70 gates), comparing values, looking up a small table.
2Write it as a NAND-only netlistA netlist is a list of gates and which two wires each one takes. You can write the logic in Verilog, convert it to a NAND-only netlist with the open-source tool Yosys, and test every input on your own computer before going on chain.
3Choose a processorProcessors are the “factories” on TapeOut, each with its own transistor price and supply. You buy one transistor on that processor for every gate in your circuit.
4Tape outWrite the netlist on chain from your wallet. The circuit then gets its own number (like 3.2.245) and a Container account.
5Run and checkRunning an on-chain circuit read-only is free; anyone can call it and check the result. See the cast call example on the verify page.

For the actual interface and current rules, follow the official TapeOut site.

A REAL COST

On 2026-10-05 we taped out a 3,829-gate circuit (DOT32_T) on our own X Layer processor #245:

ItemAmountNote
3,829 transistors0.38356 OKBOur own processor, so we withdrew this afterwards
Tapeout fee0.0013 OKBPaid to the protocol, not refundable
Net cost~0.0023 OKBIncluding transaction fees

On someone else’s processor, the transistor money goes to that processor’s creator and you can’t get it back; you pay their price. Prices on BNB Chain also move with the market.

GOT AN IDEA?

Post the logic you have in mind in the community and we can estimate roughly how many gates and how much it would cost. The model-to-circuit tools we use internally aren’t ready for outside users, and there is no public tutorial for now.
